A Support Worker empowers individuals with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, mental health challenges, or complex needs to live fulfilling and independent lives. Day-to-day responsibilities vary widely depending on the service user's needs and may include personal care, supporting with daily life tasks, facilitating community access, medication management, and maintaining detailed support records. Building trusting relationships and promoting the dignity, choice, and autonomy of those in your care is at the heart of this role. Candidates should demonstrate empathy, patience, and strong communication skills, along with a commitment to person-centred support. Experience working in social care is beneficial, and a relevant Level 2 or 3 Health and Social Care qualification is desirable. An enhanced DBS check is required.
