A Care Assistant provides compassionate, person-centred support to elderly or vulnerable individuals within a residential care or nursing home setting. Responsibilities include assisting residents with personal care, supporting with mobility and mealtimes, engaging in meaningful social activities, and accurately recording care observations in line with care plans. Care Assistants work closely with nursing staff and other care colleagues to ensure residents' physical, emotional, and social needs are consistently met. A kind, patient, and respectful approach is fundamental to the role, as is a commitment to maintaining residents' dignity at all times. Previous care experience is beneficial, and a relevant qualification such as a Level 2 Care Certificate or NVQ is desirable.
