A Maintenance Engineer ensures the reliable and safe operation of plant, machinery, and facilities through preventative and reactive maintenance activities. Responsibilities include conducting planned maintenance tasks, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults, maintaining detailed maintenance logs, and working to minimise equipment downtime within a production or facilities environment. The role may require on-call availability and flexibility to work across different shifts. A relevant engineering qualification such as an ONC, HNC, or City and Guilds is typically required, along with substantial experience in an industrial or commercial maintenance setting. Knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and relevant health and safety standards is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
