A Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimising the transportation and distribution of goods to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery across the supply chain. Key duties include managing carrier relationships, overseeing inbound and outbound logistics operations, monitoring delivery performance metrics, resolving operational issues, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations. The Logistics Manager also plays a strategic role in identifying process improvements and cost-saving opportunities across the logistics function. Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and a solid understanding of supply chain management are essential. Previous experience in a logistics or transport management role, along with relevant qualifications such as a CPC in Road Haulage, is desirable. Leadership abilities and excellent communication skills are key, as the role involves managing teams and working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
