A Primary Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality teaching across the primary curriculum, creating an inspiring learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all pupils. Key duties include designing engaging lesson plans aligned to the National Curriculum, maintaining detailed assessment records, communicating effectively with parents and carers, and contributing to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and staff meetings. Primary Teachers are expected to foster a love of learning, promote positive behaviour, and support pupils' personal development as well as their academic progress. A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required, along with a strong knowledge of primary-age pedagogy. Enthusiasm, creativity, resilience, and a genuine commitment to children's wellbeing are all essential qualities.
