A SEND Teaching Assistant provides specialist support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, working under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo to help every student access learning effectively. The role may involve working on a one-to-one basis or supporting small groups, and may include assisting with personal care depending on pupil requirements. A compassionate, patient approach and a commitment to inclusive education are essential.
