An Outreach Tutor delivers personalised, one-to-one or small group tuition to pupils outside of the mainstream school setting, typically in community venues or the student's home environment. The role involves assessing individual learning needs, designing tailored lesson plans, and delivering engaging sessions that address gaps in knowledge and build confidence. Outreach Tutors often work with vulnerable or disengaged learners, including those with SEND, mental health challenges, or complex social circumstances. Strong subject knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to build rapport quickly are essential. A relevant teaching or tutoring qualification, along with DBS clearance, is required. This flexible and independent role is ideal for experienced educators who are passionate about supporting learners who face barriers to mainstream education and making a tangible difference to their academic outcomes.
