Admin Support Officer
SPR Careers are proud to be working with a public sector client to recruit for a temporary Admin Support Officer located in Birmingham.

Candidates MUST hold a full driving license. 

Based in Birmingham, as Admin Support Officer the ideal candidate will be providing clerical and administrative support to a Bereavement Officer and Registrar in connection with the booking and organisation of funerals and any appropriate statutory requirements on a day-to-day basis utilising appropriate computerised systems.

Working Instructions:
Pay Rate: £12.19p/h
Hours: Start and Finish times will vary between the hours of 7am and 7pm in line with local rota arrangements which will be determined according to local need – Bank holiday and weekend working may be required.
Location: Birmingham

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Admin Support Officer:
  • To liaise directly with the public/service users etc., both by telephone and in person in respect of the Burial and Cremation Service.
  • Receiving telephone bookings for burials/cremations and witness scatters
  • Completing the particulars of burial order forms
  • Checking funeral directors’ confirmation forms for discrepancies
  • Entering of information into booking diaries / computer
  • Noting special requests
  • Preparing and checking details for interment
  • Entering the details into the statutory and other registers and maintaining the statutory documents
  • Inputting and updating of information on the Wesley Music System as required.
  • Produce a totally accurate daily work sheet for the Cemetery / Crematorium together with certificates for disposal when appropriate.
  • To produce and be responsible for the generation of the Cremation Register
  • Filing all burial / cremation papers and ancillary documentation
  • Responding to all incoming queries about delivery dates / location etc of memorials.
  • Any other associated duties, which may be necessary for the efficient running of the Cemetery and Crematoria Service, commensurate with the grading of the post.
Requirements:
Full drivers licence
Must be able to get to various cemeteries across the area
